Hi All,
Unfortunately I didn’t make it to the next workshop stage of The Writer’s Academy… Again. Third year in a row now.
C’est La Vie.
Thanks to everyone for their lovely messages of moral support. Obviously I’m massively disappointed, but there’s always next year.
You gotta be in it to win it, etc.
I’ll believe that tomorrow.
Shit and buggery. Sorry. I know that doesn't count for much, but I'll say it all the same.
Darn and drat. Good attitude to have, though, looking forward to next year.
It counts for a lot, Laurence — thanks. I was hoping to progress at least one stage this year, but end of the day – it's 150 down to 30, a 1 in 5 chance. Odds were against me. I'll be better tmw.
Hello Antonia – we overlapped there. Yes, bring on next year… They can take my applications until they bloody take me!!!
Bad luck and fingers crossed for next year.
You have to look at this positively. I hear it's a hell of lot of work. You wouldn't have as much time for blogging, and that would be a tragedy. The BBC's loss is our gain.
Sorry to hear your bad news Lucy. I know how much you wanted it.
Sorry to hear that Lucy 🙁
Love your positive attitude though – keep entering!
In my opinion though you'll make it big whether you do the academy or not…
🙂
Ah sorry. I know how you feel. I got through the first stage but received 'that' email today. It sucks but you just have to carry on. Keep going and you'll get there.
Best of luck. I'm liking your blog a lot. 🙂
Lou, sorry to hear that.
Do we know anyone who did make it?
Shit. So sorry, hon. It's difficult to imagine anyone more wanting or deserving.
It'll come…
Next beer's on me. x
I soooo wanted it for you. I really did as I think you deserve good things. You'll get there in the end…
Thanks so much everyone – and sorry to hear Lou didn't make it to the next round either!
I don't know anyone who got through yet, but when I do, I will HUNT THEM DOWN! ; )
Sorry Lucy. Don't lose your sparkle – we need you!
Sorry to hear you got knocked back. You was robbed.
"God never closes a door but he opens a window." Julie Andrews taught me that years ago.
One of my gay friends told me that after a setback.
Here's to lots of open windows.
